Säulen (Flaschen), 2022
Flaschen turns the spotlight on the PET water bottle.
An omnipresent consumer product, it is the object of investigation for an exploration of an entire range of contemporary concerns: drinking water, nature and technology, brands and waste.
The columns derive from paper models made with the same stencils used for the gouaches. They are enlarged proportionally to a dimension commensurate with the human body. Their surfaces are printed with monotypes executed in industrial varnish diluted with too much water and marred by peculiar impurities and stains that lend them the appearance of perishable organic structures.
The shape of the freestanding column is as elemental and ancient as the first human who stacked stones atop one another.
